Learning Areas & Capabilities

The broadest range of subjects in the Macedon Ranges

From 2017 Gisborne Secondary College will base its teaching and learning programs on the Victorian Curriculum. The Victorian Curriculum Foundation–10 (F–10) sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is the common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship.

The Victorian Curriculum F–10 incorporates the Australian Curriculum and reflects Victorian priorities and standards.

The major structural change for schools from 2017, will be the move to a model with eight learning areas and four capabilities.

Gisborne Secondary College is proud to be able to offer our students a wide range of subjects. Our extensive facilities enable us to offer both technical and academic courses. Care is taken to ensure that all courses and programs fall in line with AusVELS (until end 2016), The Victorian Curriculum and VCE outlines.
