1. BASIC CHEMISTRY
  • The bits that matter (Ch 1 Science Quest 2) Concentrate on Elements, Compounds and Mixtures (from year 7) Symbols for the elements, simple Molecular Formulae ( e.g. Water, Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen) Discussion of the periodic table is optional.

    • Chemical reactions (Ch2 Science Quest 2) Revise solids, liquids and gases from year 7. Concentrate on acids and bases and chemical changes.
 2. PRODUCING ELECTRICITY
    Producing Electricity (Ch 2 Science Quest 3 and ASEP Places for People)
3. FORCES AT WORK
    Forces at work (Ch 4 Science Quest 2)
 4. PALAENTOLOGY
  • ASEP. Digging Up Evidence

    • Some of Chapter 5 Science Quest 2, but OMIT  Metamorphic rocks,  which is covered in year 7.
5. ASTRONOMY
    Astronomy (Ch 6 Science Quest 2)
 6. HUMAN BIOLOGY
  • Nutrients and Digestion (Ch 7 Science Quest 2)
  • Transport highways (Ch 8 Science Quest 2) Including Respiration (Ch 11 Science Quest 1)
  • Reproduction (Ch 9 Science Quest 2) N.B.Need to pretest as some classes will have covered this in H & HR.

    • Body at war (Ch 10 Science Quest 2)
7. ECOLOGY
