As we all know, establishing good working habits from an early stage is an important part of educational development. Supervised Study at the school, includes a Mathematics focus with Mathematics teachers in attendance and a generalist focus with teachers from other faculties. The teachers’ role is to maintain a positive working environment, monitor attendance, and to provide active assistance to students where possible.
Supervised Study is available to any student who would like some assistance with their work, or to take advantage of a quiet place to study. Some students like to work as groups. There is no need to ‘book’ and students do not have to stay the whole time. The library offers computer, and thus Portal, access.
Students may be recommended to attend Supervised Study as a result of absences causing a need to catch up, or at the direction of the Year Level Leader in instances where the student is either not working well in class or failing to submit homework or assignment work.
[The library is also open most lunchtimes for students who wish to work there]
