document.writeln('<p>The unveiling of Blue Thunder sponsored by AAEV took place on Monday 9th of November at 7.30pm in the metal work room.</p>');
document.writeln('<p>Blue Thunder is an electric hybrid human powered vehicle to be raced in the 2009 RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge. Many hours of training, hard work and dedication has gone in to the construction of this custom built vehicle.</p>');
document.writeln('<p>For those of you who have not heard, Gisborne Secondary College has a team of enthusiastic and hard working students who are building a Hybrid Solar – Electric Bike.  They will be taking part in the RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge is a twenty four hour race held in Maryborough in November this year.  The team have been working and training tirelessly with the help of major sponsor AAEV - Australian All Electric Vehicles.</p>');

The Slipstream was originally a magazine and was first published in 2006. Since then we have created our MySpace and we are currently updated and improving! document.writeln('<p>We are proud of Chloe Perrys exciting achievment at being selected to represent Victoria in the up coming State Futsal Squad. Chloe is one of 10 players which includes two goalies that has been selected to go to Canberra in the middle of January 2010. Chloe was also selected this year to play in the Victorian Champions League which is a competition ran by the FFV over the summer period. document.writeln('<p>On Tuesday 20th October a  ‘Meet the Employers breakfast’ was organised by Gisborne Secondary College and CVGT. The aim was to inform students about different trades and to assist students to see the link between their school studies/work experience and possible future employment. A number of local trades people, whom we thank very much for their time, spoke about their jobs and gave students valuable hints and advice on how to prepare themselves and use the opportunities that being at school prevents to get a foot in the door and possibly begin their apprenticeships. Students have organised work experience with these employers and taken away an understanding of the importance of these critical middle years of schooling to prepare themselves  for apprenticeships or pre-apprenticeship courses.  This event was organised by LCP Officer Anne-Marie Williams with CVGT,  the Careers Coordinator John Horley, and English teacher Anne Jackson from Gisborne Secondary College.</p>');

document.writeln('<p> The Youth Health Expo for all Year 9 students has been running at GSC since 2001.   This is a combined project involving the school, Macedon Ranges Health Services, Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Cobaw Community Health Service and the Central highlands Division of General Practice.  The Expo is held at Gisborne Community Health Centre where students  have the opportunity to meet with local health workers. The overall goal of this activity is to offer accurate information and support to young people about a range of health issues. It is also an opportunity to link with community workers and different agencies.  Each year the students’ evaluations show an overwhelming positive response.</p><br><hr><br>');

Since our special fundraiser on 13th February, I continue to be impressed with the generosity of our students and their families.  A large number of students have supported the efforts of Ms Parish and Ms Loveday to provide relief for animals affected by the fires and I am aware of students who have contributed substantially from their own pockets to help out.  </p>');
