Gisborne Secondary College is proud of its well-established and highly regarded Performing Arts program. Students are able to choose from a large number of subjects including Dance, Drama and Music. Students can also select to further their musical interested by doing Instrumental Music.
Each year the college puts on a production in its state-of-the-art theatre, with tickets always incredibly popular among the school and broader community. Students have the opportunity to participate in the production where they have the chance to sing, dance and perform or to be part of the backstage crew.
In 2024, staff and students will work with in collaboration with Kyneton High School’s performing arts department to present The Addams Family. KHS is not currently in the position to offer this opportunity to students, so GSC will open wide the Barcham Theatre doors to their Kyneton counterparts, who will form part of the cast, backstage and tech crew. The team at Gisborne Secondary College are looking forward to seeing the talent on offer and are excited to be establishing positive ties with the neighbouring public school.

Victorian State Schools Spectacular
Gisborne Secondary College offers talented year 7 and 8 students the opportunity to participate in the annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular as a member of the dance or choir team. Students perform on stage and for a TV-broadcast, and gain hands-on experience in the performing arts under the guidance of industry professionals.
