Wellbeing Wednesday

Gisborne Secondary College places the wellbeing of all members of the school community as a high priority. In line with this, we are excited to introduce a new initiative called 'Wellbeing Wednesday'. This initiative will deliver content and resources to you each week catered specifically to students, parents and carers. We hope you find it highly valuable.

Week 2 – Relieving Stress Through Art

Results of a 2016 study published in the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association found ‘that just 45 minutes of creative activity can reduce your stress, regardless of artistic experience or talent.”

Week 3 – Mindfulness

In times of uncertainty, we look for techniques and strategies to help manage, reduce anxiety and stay connected. Mindfulness is a tool to help with our wellbeing.

Week 4 – Physical Health

Today, 2nd September 2020, is National Health & Physical Education Day!  To mark the day and recognise the importance of physical health and activity we are tying it in with Wellbeing Wednesday.  Check out this 3-minute workout video that can easily be done at home – all you need is a chair.
